MojoPac

Well, the idea of bringing your PC applications and content with you using a more portable device certainly is appealing. However, I'm not following how the heck they actually do it, especially without infringing on Microsoft's licensing. Interesting though. MojoPac

Gizmo SMS - Send FREE messages to any Mobile Phone

I tried this the other day. Worked great. Yes most cell companies have a webpage for sending free SMS messages to their subscribers. But you need to find these pages and who knows which network someone is with in order to get it right. Gizmo takes care of that for you. Gizmo SMS - Send FREE messages to any Mobile Phone

GrandCentral: The New Way to Use Your Phones -

I remember years ago NBTel came up with a version of this. It was before the internet took off and it worked pretty well. However this version takes it to a whole new level including treating voicemails like emails - sending the telemarketing callers to spam and storing all of the messages forever to search on later. Very cool. GrandCentral: The New Way to Use Your Phones -

Canadians find way to vote for American Idol

UPDATE: MARCH 20-07 - Well it appears this video made quite a stir within either the US Reality TV shows or Gizmo or both. It would seem that no Canadian Gizmo account can call US 800 numbers any longer. Too bad. I'm sure Canadians would have enjoyed voting for their faves since they make up a very LARGE market for advertisers on these shows. No more happy customers. Back to only watching the shows for us Canadians. Bummer. ----------------------------------------------------------------- If you happen to be one of the million or more people who watch US reality TV programs like American Idol in Canada you'll know by now that trying to dial their special 866#'s from your phone here in Canada won't work. Yeah, you get to watch the program but forget about voting. Ahhhh, but now you can with a little trick I learned this week. You use the free Internet phone service called Gizmo. You simply download it and install it and you are ready to dial the American Idol 866#'s for free from your computer in Canada. You see, Gizmo actually dials the numbers for you from it's headquarters in the US so the folks that run the service for American Idol think you are in the US. Of course you're in Canada but they don't know this when using Gizmo. I voted both nights last week, many-many times, without a problem. And if you are calling 800 type number's, I discovered, the calls are thankfully free in Gizmo. Wanna see just how easy, check out the YouTube video of me voting like mad this week below.
